SCHEERSCHMIDT
Mr. Norman George "Louie" Scheerschmidt lifelong resident of Stettler passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 while in the Stettler Hospital at the age of 88 years.
Louie is survived by his loving family: daughters: Cathy Mailer, Donna Scheerschmidt
and Sandra Scheerschmidt-Storek; son Brian (Carol) Scheerschmidt; grandchildren: Ryan (Sheri) Mailer, Marsha Mailer (Ryan Nixon), Robbie Lutz, Danny Lutz, Kayla Scheerschmidt, Sarah Scheerschmidt and Christian Scheerschmidt; great grandchildren: Joshua, Molly, Piper, Emma and Connor; sister Louise Fischer; sisters in law Margaret Merchant and Blanche McKay; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends.
Louie was predeceased by his parents Annie and Paul; wife Kay; sons in law Rodney Mailer and Ivan Storek; granddaughter Brittany Scheerschmidt; sisters Irene (Gene) Benson, Dorothy Scheerschmidt; brothers Henry (Ivy) Scheerschmidt, James (Elaine) Scheerschmidt; sisters in law Mary (Elmer) Smith, Belle (Dan) Marchand, Nancy (Wilfred) Hillman, Sara (Everett) Rosborough, Grace (Jack) Pearn and Betty McKay; brothers in law Bill (Pearl) McKay, Charlie (Lorna) McKay, John (Kay) McKay, Chris Fischer, Gerry McKay and Don Merchant.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Stettler Community Hall, Stettler, AB with Pastor Jonathan Aicken of St. Peter Lutheran Church officiating. Tributes were given by Sandra Scheerschmidt-Storek and Marsha Mailer. Doug McKay shared his ministry of music for the hymns and some of Louie's favorite recorded selections were played. The interment followed in Lakeview Cemetery, Stettler, AB. A time of sharing and fellowship was held back in the hall prepared by Teresa's Catering.
