TURNER - Norma Leona passed away this month after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Jim, two sons Blair (Evelyn) and Craig (Lynn) and two daughters Norma (Doran) and Nadine. As well she had eight grandchildren (Leana, Angie, Karla, Julie, Tim, Mark, Garret, and Justin) along with her five great-grandchildren (Katie, Mandy and Jessica, Gabriela and Maya) as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She will also be missed by her two surviving sisters Anne and Doris. She was a very gifted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed by anyone who ever met her. For any of you who wish to place a gift in Leona’s memory, we would ask that in lieu of flowers, you would honour her with a gift to the Red Deer Hospice Society who cared for her so graciously in her last days, STARS Air Ambulance or the Canadian Cancer Society. A Celebration of Leona’s life was held in the Jubilee Hall, Big Valley, AB on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008. An interment service took place at the Big Valley Cemetery officiated by Rev. Susan Bowyer on Saturday, Nov. 15. Sympathies may be forwarded to the family by signing the guestbook at www.stettlerfuneralhome.com.
