Norbert is also survived by many aunts, uncles, other relatives and many, many dear friends. Predeceased by his Grandparents and Uncle Horst Mueller in Germany and Lisa's grandfather Joe Fisher, aunt Lorrie Heath and stepfather Al Hronek. Norbert grew up in the Spruce Coulee area east of Donalda. He attended Donalda School until grade 9 and then finished high school in Stettler. He joined his good friend Andy Gebhardt working on the oil rigs and later attended SAIT to take power engineering. He worked throughout Alberta in various jobs and locations, working mostly in the oilfield and construction. He married Lisa Dhenin in 1989, and they were blessed with two wonderful sons Travis and Derek in 1990 and 1992 respectively. Norbert has always been close to his boys spending time quadding, sledding, camping and of course they were always helping out around home. In 1991 Norbert and Lisa got into business for themselves, buying Battle River Oilfield Services from Lisa's parents. They raised beef cattle, did custom haying and later got into raising whitetail deer. Norbert loved his deer and they built up quite a herd, selling their prize bucks to hunting ranches in the US and Canada. In 2010, Norbert started working at the Paintearth Mine. Norbert loved the outdoors and had a great sense for adventure. "Go hard or go home" was his motto. Snowmobiling was his passion, and he always lived life to the fullest, leaving us with many, many great memories. A celebration of Norbert's life was held at the Westwoods Community Hall on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Rick Laurendeau officiating. Family and friends then gathered following the service for a time of sharing old stories and light refreshments. As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Norbert, memorial contributions may be made to the British Columbia Search and Rescue or to S.T.A.R.S Air Ambulance in care of Brennen Funeral Home and Cremation Services P.O.
