In Loving Memory of

Nancy Lynn Embury

1975-2008

Nancy passed away suddenly at the University Hospital, Edmonton, AB after a long-standing battle with auto-immune liver disease on Monday, Sept. 15 at age 33. Nancy is survived by her husband Douglas Gilchrist, her sister Janet Embury and her parents David and Diana Embury of Waterloo, ON. Beloved by all, Nancy will also be sadly missed by her grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins. As well, Nancy will be missed by her many friends here in Stettler, AB. Nancy received her Honours degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Middle Eastern Archaeology and Anthropology and also graduated from Sir Sanford Fleming Community College in Gallery and Museum Management. She had strong work ethics and was willing to help those around her. Nancy was a strong supporter of the Anglican Church and regularly attended services in the local parish wherever she lived. Nancy would often be seen helping out with bazaars and teas and she and Doug would often meet with the Friday night supper crew. She loved music and beginning with her junior choir days at Holy Saviour, she always sought to participate in church choral music programs. Nancy was laid to rest at Church of the Holy Saviour, Waterloo, ON on Monday, Sept. 22. A candlelight memorial service was held Oct. 2 at St. George’s Anglican Church in Stettler. Memorial donations can be given to her husband, Douglas Gilchrist for a charity of his choice. Donations for Doug will also be accepted at the Stettler Independent.

Our hearts remember the days that were shared. Our hearts remember the love that was given.
