Mildred "Millie" Nicklom passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Heritage House in Stettler, Alberta at the age of 83 years.

Millie was born in Stettler to parents James and Jessie Sivacoe on October 4, 1935 and resided in the area until her passing.

Millie attended the Fritz Hill School and in the old days when growing up, her and her siblings rode horses to school and as kids they did chores, from feeding the pigs and chickens to chasing the cows from the pastures.

Millie had a love for horses and she even had the honor of becoming Miss Rodeo Queen in 1955 at the Imperial Ranch. She also had a passion for gardening and a love of animals and always grew a big garden on the farm.

Millie married Ferdie Nicklom on September 27, 1958 and they farmed together for many years in Fritz Hill area on the home place where Millie grew up. Later in life Ferdie and Millie retired from the farm and moved into the Town of Stettler where they resided. Millie will be deeply missed by those she loved and the many friends and acquaintances she made through the years.

Graveside service was held at Lake View Cemetery on Friday, October 26, 2018 with Albert Reule officiating. A beautiful tribute was given by Ila Lunevich as well as several pieces of her favourite music were played. Active pallbearers were Deane Kerbes, Fred VonKrogh, Ricky Nicklom, Mickey Meston, Archie Lunevich and Art Tizzard as she was laid to rest with her husband Ferdie. Family and friends gathered at Linda Hall for a time of sharing memories and a luncheon by the Linda Hall Ladies.
