MCKNIGHT – Ms. Marilyn Joan McKnight of Red Deer, AB passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the age of 57 years. Marilyn is lovingly remembered by her mother, Shirley McKnight of Castor, AB, brother Steve (Patti) McKnight of Halkirk, AB and their children Kerbi and Matt; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Marilyn was predeceased by her father Robert James Mcknight who passed away in 2001. Marilyn was born in Olds, AB on Tuesday, July 11, 1950 and was raised on the family farm near Halkirk. During this time Marilyn expressed her joy of being in the outdoors and playing in water, no matter the size of mud puddle as well as developing a life long love of ice cream. Early in her life Marilyn moved to Red Deer to reside at the Michener Centre. Her life at Michener was filled with loving care and good friendships. Marilyn was not a verbal person but was quite able to express her joys and sorrows with those around her. Marilyn will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of Marilyn’s life was held in the Theatre of the Roland Michener Recreation Centre on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Marilyn was laid to rest with her father in the Gadsby Cemetery, Gadby, AB.
