HART
Marie (Bunka) Hart went home to be with the Lord, June 6, 2010, from Heritage House, Stettler, Alberta at the age of 90 years. She was born April 22, 1920 to Ukrainian parents George and Anne Prokoptez in Englefeld, Saskatchewan. She was one of nine siblings, consisting of six brothers and two sisters. Marie was predeceased by her parents, two husbands John Bunka and Harold Hart, an infant son David Bunka, son Glen Hart, six brothers and one sister. She is survived by one sister Cecilia (Fred) Panchuk of Victoria, BC; seven children: Raymond (Janet) Bunka of Calgary, Gordon Bunka of Boscawen, New Hampshire, Leslie Hart of Toronto, Don (Yvette) Hart of Florida, Janette (George) Miller of Edmonton, Marlene (Mal) Stuart of High River and Clara (Peter) Sinfield of Edmonton; 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Marie was a loving, caring and compassionate wife, mother and grandmother instilling hard work, integrity and equality in her children. She was known for her baking and cooking abilities throughout the surrounding areas of Botha and district. Her business sense was displayed in owning and operating "Marie's Café" successfully for many years in Botha. She was an accomplished seamstress, hairdresser, quilt maker and curler. After her marriage to Harold Hart in 1971, they moved to Stettler and she resided in her home until 1999 when she moved to Heart Haven Lodge. During her marriage to Harold, they traveled extensively throughout Canada, USA and Hawaii, thoroughly enjoying a new experience. Marie cherished her time spent visiting family and friends. We will all carry many special lessons taught and special memories in our hearts forever.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home with Rev. Ross Helgeton officiating. Happy Gang 2 sang several numbers that were Marie's favorites while she was a resident of Heritage House. Family and friends gathered for a time of sharing and old stories during the luncheon in the Heartland Reception Centre, with the Botha UCW serving. Memorial donations may be made in Marie's name to Woodland Cemetery or SHSF - Heritage House. Condolences may be forwarded to
