March 28, 1939 - March 2, 2023
In loving memory ~
Margaret Ruth Furseth went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 2, 2023. Left to mourn her passing, her husband and best friend of 58 years, Paul; two children Jan (Paul) and Mark; four grandchildren Elliot, Alexandra, Olivia and Emerson.
Ruth was born in Stettler on March 28, 1939, and spent her childhood in Stettler and Edmonton. After graduating from Berean Bible College in 1958, Ruth ventured up to Whitehorse to serve at a children's home. She returned to Alberta and married Paul on September 17th, 1966 in Calgary.
Ruth served wholeheartedly alongside Paul and Camp Chestermere, Mayland Heights Baptist Church, Calgary, Lee Ridge Baptist Church, Edmonton; Byron Community Chapel, London, ON; and at two universities in NE China.
At each step along life's journey, Ruth brought excellence to the task and sought to fill others' lives with joy, encouragement and even gentle prodding to those she met, young or old, to keep going and growing.
She was a loving sister to eleven siblings and a doting aunt to a host of nieces and nephews; each one was always introduced as her 'favourite'. Her popular book "Those Darn Whitesides" bears witness to her love for her family and her private prayer journal underscored her spiritual concern for each.
We will miss Ruth - her example will serve us well as we move forward.
