HENKE

Lorna Emma

1951 - 2010

Lorna Henke was diagnosed with cancer on June 8, 2010 and passed away suddenly only 6 days later on June 14, 2010. She left us too fast and too soon, but her courageous and hard fought battle with the disease typified all that Lorna was. Lorna was born in Stettler on December 13, 1951 and throughout her life experienced "a few downs, but mostly ups". She loved life and lived it to the fullest, enjoying the time she spent by her pond and sharing special memories with family and friends. Her laughter was infectious and her strength, courage and unwavering positive outlook are an inspiration to all who knew her. Lorna is survived by her loving mother Agnes Comeau, her treasured children Jennine (Doug) Osborne and Del (Ola) Uschenko and her amazing grandson Jyles Uschenko. She is also survived by her sisters Betty (Wally) Tillapaugh, June (George) Elliott and her brothers Keith (Cheryl) Henke, Don (Anita) Henke, and Bob (Nora Jane) Henke as well as her many nieces and nephews. Lorna is pre-deceased by her father Albert Henke and her stepfather Joe Comeau. Lorna's family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital for their amazing care and support. They would also like to thank all of Lorna's friends, old and new, who helped to make Lorna smile throughout her life. There was a joyful celebration of Lorna's life held at her backyard pond on June 19, 2010 where Lorna reminded everyone to "Be strong, be happy, and remember the good." As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
