GROVER – Lloyd Richard Grover, Dec. 9, 1929 – May 1, 2008. Born to Richard (Hicks) and Florence Grover of Leo, AB. The eldest of six children, Lloyd Richard passed away peacefully at 78 years. He grew up in Byemoor, AB, where he and his brother Norman farmed with Grampy Nelson until 1967. He relocated to Olds, AB, where he worked for Parkland Oilfield until his retirement in 1995. Lloyd enjoyed curling, camping, hunting, fishing, and also being his children and grandchildren’s number one fan. He was also a life member of the Elks, honorary member of the Legion and a member of the Olds Ag Society. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Lil, their son Jim and Nikki, daughter Connie and Kelly Vanderburgh and three grandchildren, Aeden, Emily and Stone; three brothers; Glen (Joan), Merle (Shirley), Ron (Deb) and Uncle Roy and Aunt Verna Nelson; brother-in-law Hughie Kelly (Fran). He was also survived by Lil’s family Betty Keibel, Ken Nixon, Doreen Nixon, Louise Schoeppe and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, brother Norman and sister Elaine; as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law Jim and Evelyn Nixon, brothers-in-law Edwin Nixon and Ken Keibel. The celebration of his life was held on May 6, 2008 at the Royal Canadian Legion. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation and to the Olds Hospital Palliative Care.
