She was predeceased by her parents Chestley and Lilian, husband Archie MacDonald, brothers Chestley Netterville III and Douglas Netterville and one sister Eileen Lamden. Mollie was born in Stettler, AB on April 15, 1918 to Chestley and Lilian Netterville. She lived with her family on a farm north of Stettler and attended school at both Lyncot and also in Stettler. She decided to continue her education and went on to attend Normal School in Calgary. Mollie became a teacher and taught school for a year at Zenith School and then for one year at Skybo School and continued on as an occasional substitute teacher when her children grew older. On July 1, 1941 Mollie married Archibald Fletcher MacDonald and to this union two children were born. Mollie loved her family and spent every moment she could with them. She could very often be found enjoying her large garden and happily keeping her beautiful yard in the summer. There were flowers, shrubs and trees which somehow found their way home with Mollie after many family holidays. Mollie loved to paint and was very good at it. Most of her paintings featured nature scenes and the mountains which she loved dearly. Some of these paintings now hang in the homes of her children and other family members alike and are treasured. She enjoyed handicrafts, traveling and was an avid reader and some of these wonderful traits have also been passed along to her family. Being very community minded, Mollie belonged to the Red Willow Cemetery Club and also to the Lyncot Ladies Club assisting in many community events and helping to serve for many funeral receptions. To so many Mollie was a wonderful lady and she will be truly missed. A memorial service in Mollie's honor was held at the Brennen Funeral Home Chapel in Stettler on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 11 a.m. with a reception and fellowship following in the Brennen Funeral Home Reception Area. The family then gathered at the Red Willow Cemetery where Mollie was laid to rest with her beloved husband Archie.
