LILLIAN "Billie" Lenore Boehlke

April 3, 1918 - March 29, 2010

Billie passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 29 at the age of 91 years, to be with the Lord whom she loved and served, and the love of her life, Gust, who passed away in 1988. Billie will be lovingly remembered by her son Greg (Lynne) of Crossfield and daughter Bonnie (Len) of Calling Lake, as well as her grandchildren - Beau, Ashley, Melissa, Laine, Kent and great-grandchildren Tristan, Adam and Ethan. Billie was predecesed by her brothers, Elmer and Jack and sisters, Elsie and May. She has one surviving sister, Ester (Bunny) Boehlke of Endiang, AB. Growing up, Billie attended Sommerhill school in the Endiang area and then the Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, AB where, upon graduation she took on various ministries throughout the province. In the 1940s, she also worked for the Capitol Theatre in Calgary, where she became the first female manager in Canada. She enjoyed travelling and twice visited Hawaii, spent some time in Europe and, her high point - a pilgramage to the Holy Land. In the early 1950s, Billie and Gust settled on a farm west of Balzac where they raised their children and in subsequent years, welcomed their grandchildren. Billie enjoyed working in her garden, bowling and swimming. Billie will be fondly remembered for her generous nature and helping hand to strangers, friends, and family alike. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Billie's life at the Endiang Community Hall in Endiang, AB on April 21, 2010 @ 1:00pm.
