December 1, 1943 - July 29, 2018
Lavina Marie Hansel was born December 1, 1943 to parents Lloyd and Pearl Hansel.

She was a baby sister to brothers Joe, Vic and Bill. She took all her schooling at Gadsby. In October 1959, she met the love of her life, Gary Larson. In 1960 they moved to Stettler when Bill and Joyce took over the farm. On January 19, 1963 she and Gary were married. In October 1963 they moved to Medicine Hat where Doug was born on October 15. In 1966 they moved back to Stettler where they started Larson's Auto Electric; living in Stettler, Leahurst and Rochon Sands. During that time she and Joy Kobi operated the Treasure Shop until Lavina retired in 2006. In 2015 she was diagnosed with Lung Cancer, which she succumbed to on July 29, 2018.

Lavina is survived by her loving family: husband of 55 years, Gary Larson of Stettler; son Doug Larson (Mary) of Stettler; grandchildren: Don Larson of Edmonton, Alix Larson (Dusty Thiessen) of Stettler and Paige Larson (Kendrick Bozman) of Rocky Mountain House; great-granddaughter Luccandra "Lucy" Aquash and great-grandson Anixander "Anik" Bozman; brother Bill (Joyce) Hansel of Gadsby; sister-in-law Maxine Hansel of Stettler; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends. Lavina was predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Pearl Hansel; brothers Joe and Vic; parents-in-law OB and Molly Larson and brother-in-law Marvin Larson.

A Funeral Service was held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 2:00 at the Stettler United Church, Stettler, Alberta with Reverend Mervyn Penfound officiating. Burial took place at the Omega Cemetery, Gadsby, Alberta. Donations in memory of Lavina are gratefully accepted to S.T.A.R.S., Alberta Cancer Foundation or a charity of choice c/o Stettler Funeral Home & Crematorium, P.O.
