UNSWORTH

Laura was born in Calgary on September 3, 1930, the youngest of seven children to Gordon and Letty Clarke. It was while working on the Unsworth farm she met Louis her soon to be husband. They were then joined in marriage on November 4, 1950 and to this union five children were born Sharon, Robb, Gerry, John and Frank. Laura was a very accepting and a loving lady. All family was very important to Laura. Her house on the farm was always a buzz with family occasions and relatives stopping by just to say hello or joining Laura and Louis for a meal. She was always there to help family in whatever way she could. This is how Larry and Linda came to live with her. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their accomplishments were her most cherished possessions in her life. She spent her last few years in Willow Creek Lodge and enjoyed her time there making new friendships.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Sharon Lindenberger of Stettler and Sharon's two sons, Brian (Chelsea) of Halkirk and Michael (Star) Schritter of Camrose; Robb's son, Larry (Nancy) of Edmonton, daughter, Linda (Aaron) Bird or Airdrie, daughter, Krysta of Stettler and daughter, Trina of Stettler; her son, Gerry (Teresa) of Red Deer and his son, Josh (Partner) of Red Deer, daughter, Shalae (Ryan) Engel of Red Deer; her son, John (Sandra) of Edmonton; her son, Frank of Garden Plain and daughter, Dawn of B.C; daughter-in-law, Linda Engel of Stettler; only surviving sibling, Jean (Bill) Furgeson; also survived by 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Letty Clarke, husband, Louis, son, Robert, granddaughter, Michelle Schritter, mother-in-law, Francis and five siblings.
Funeral services were held at the Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home & Crematorium on Friday, February 3, 2012 with Rev. David Denholm officiating. Elaine Hennel presented her gift of music on the organ as she played for the hymns. Marlene Borne gave a loving tribute to those in attendance. Family and friends gathered in the Heartland Reception Centre for a time of fellowship and a luncheon.
