BAUMAN

Kenneth "Ken" Fritz

After a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease, Ken passed away peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 74 years of age. Ken was born on February 9, 1936 at home in Endiang, Alberta. He was the eldest son of Audrey and Fritz Bauman and the second oldest of ten children. In 1957 Ken married Joyce Elaine Page, daughter of Irene and Floyd Page, in Stettler, Alberta. Ken and Joyce were blessed with four children; two sons and two daughters. Ken and Joyce farmed in the Fenn area most of their lives together. It was during these years that Ken enjoyed curling, fishing, hunting and especially spending time with his children and later grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ken would never pass up an opportunity to coffee with family, friends and neighbours. He even set aside a certain area of his quonset, it was reserved for "coffee company" - especially his grandchildren. After 35 wonderful years of marriage, Joyce suddenly passed away in July of 1993. In June of 1994, Ken married Norma Rairdan, Ken and Joyce's lifelong friend. With this union came three more sons and their families. Ken and Norma shared over fifteen years together. They enjoyed bus tours, their holiday out east, and especially spending time with their grandchildren and great grandchildren. They seldom missed a hockey game, a music festival, a play, a baseball game or any other event the grandchildren may be involved in. Christmas once again became special to them both as the families came together to make memories.
