Joseph Michael Neumeier passed away November 5, 2017 at Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital at the age of 85. Joe was born to Mary and Michael Neumeier in Langenburg, Saskatchewan on November 2, 1932.
Joe is survived by his loving family: Bill (Janice), Marianne (Greg) Shannon, Joanne Neumeier, Gabe Neumeier, Allan (Gayleen) Neumeier, Connie (Darren) Bargholz; grandchildren: Janalee (Dustin) West, Christopher Neumeier, Amanda Shannon (Phil Penny), Stephanie (Rob) Richardson, Derick Neumeier, Tyann Neumeier (Conner Lacombe), Sean (Jeanine) Neumeier, Aaron Neumeier, Michael Neumeier (Emily Breum), Lane Neumeier (Hanna Sigfusson); great-grandchildren: Aline, Daniel, Kyra, Ella, Braden and Quinn; siblings: Leonard (Beatrice) Neumeier of Heinsburg, Lucy Senek of Vancouver, Edward Neumeier of Langenburg, Mary Sinclair of Weyburn, Gabriel (Rose) Neumeier of Edmonton; sister-in-law Joan Neumeier of Buffalo, NY, Shirley Veroba of Estevan; brother-in-law Wayne (Glenda) Sinclair of Swan Hills and sister-in-law Faye (Terry) Thomas of Grande Prairie; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and a host of many friends.
Joe was predeceased by his parents Mary and Michael; loving wife Eileen; grandson Brandon Shannon; siblings: Bernard (Adele), Amie, Francis (Morris) Verbeem, Jean (Matt) Wanner; brothers-in-law Clarence Sinclair and Elmer Veroba.
Funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church on Monday, November 13, 2017 with Father Mirek Kostarzewski as Celebrant. Joe was laid to rest at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery beside his loving wife Eileen. Family and friends gathered for a time of fellowship and a pictorial tribute in the Castor Community Hall and a luncheon served by the CWL.
Donations will be gratefully accepted by Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital Foundation or to the Paintearth Lodge, Castor, Alberta.
