John
John Ware passed away on July 17, 2011 at Rocky Mountain House at the age of 87. He was born January 31, 1924 in Oak River, Manitoba. He married Mildred Linthicum in 1946. Together they built a thriving jewellery business, Wares Jewellers, in Stettler, Alberta. They had the jewellery store from 1948 to 1978 when they retired to enjoy summers at Buffalo Lake and winters in Mesa, Arizona. After Mildred's passing and John's health declined, he moved to Rocky Mountain House in 2008 to be closer to his daughter. John was predeceased by his wife Mildred, in 1998. He leaves to mourn his son Brian (Carmen) and daughter Susan; grandchildren Leah (Marvin), Brent (Valerie), Cameron, Sean, and Jennifer; great grandchildren Eden and Tanner; sister Jessie Kowpak, sister-in-law Hazel Weed; brother-in-law Lyal Weed and numerous nieces and nephews. At John's request a private family service was held. The family would like to acknowledge the many kindnesses of Maxine and Will Rehman and the caring nature of the staff at both lodges in Stettler and Rocky Mountain House and the Rocky Mountain House Hospital. In memory and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
