ROBBINS, Joan (nee Craig)

Joan Robbins (née Craig) passed away on March 14, 2017 in the arms of her family at the Mayerthorpe Healthcare Center after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 67 years old.

Joan was one of four daughters; born July 23, 1949 in Stettler, Alberta to her parents, John and Margaret (Peggy) Craig. Joan was raised in Gadsby, AB, a childhood she spoke of with love. Joan met and married the love of her life Jack Robbins on August 10, 1968. Together they raised four children. Joan's life calling was truly to be a Mom. Four kids, 12 grandkids, a lot of dogs, and many great memories along the way, she spent her life loving and being loved.

Joan is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jack Robbins. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and John Ingrum of Copperas Cove, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Maggie Robbins of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Jeremy Wagner of Onoway, AB and her son and daughter-in-law, Joshua Robbins and Kelly Rowswell of Edmonton, AB. Grandma Joanie leaves behind 12 grand-children - Nicole (Jacob), Shaun, Amber, Danny, Bailey, Aiden, Kaedence, Holden, Cullen, Maeve, Haddie, and Oliver. Joan will be mourned by her sisters and their families; Morag and Jim Gallion, Margaret and Sonny Rowland, and Janet and Pat Senior. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Peggy Craig, her mother and father in law, Ernest and Winnie Robbins, and nephew Craig Rowland.

A celebration of Joan's life will be held on March 22, 2017 at 2 pm at the Stettler United Church. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate. A private family interment will take place at the Gadsby Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Edmonton SPCA.
