Jeanne Iris Usher was welcomed into the arms of the Lord just seconds after midnight on August 25, 2017 at the Stettler Hospital.

Jeanne was born at home on the farm at Botha on December 29, 1923.

She attended Zenith School in Botha and Big Valley for high school. After high school, she moved to Ontario to take up a job at a record production company. She moved back west in 1943 and got married and raised four boys. She entered the workforce with an oilfield service company (J&L Supply) and later joined Gulf Oil where she worked for about 25 years, retiring in 1980. During her years at Gulf, she was reintroduced to the love of her life, and married Charles Usher on May 30, 1970.

After retirement she volunteered for many community services, primarily Pink Ladies and Superfluity. Her vibrant faith and strong Christian values were an example of her family and all who knew her.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 47 years Charles Usher of Stettler; her brother Jack Smith of Missassauga; her four sons: Doug (Helen) of Churchill, MB, Len (Brenda) of Canmore, Bruce (Sherri) of Calgary and Garry (Merelyn) of Calgary; eight grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, four great, great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends. Jeanne was predeceased by her brothers and their spouses Lawrison (Dorothy) Smith, Joe (Pat) Smith; sisters and their spouses Eula (Gar) (Ivan) Mallett, Mildred (John) Barned, Eileen (Murray) Rairdan, Bianca (Vern) Richardson; sister in law Shirley Smith.

A Celebration of Jeanne's life was held on August 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Stettler with Pastor Jonathan Aicken officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
