October 31, 1935 - October 1, 2018
James Grant MacPherson passed away on October 1, 2018 at the Stettler Health Care Centre at the age of 82 years.

Grant was born October 31, 1935 in Melville, SK, the eldest of six children to Doris and James and was raised on the family farm. Grant attended the University of Saskatchewan and received his Diploma in Agriculture. Grant came to work in Sedgewick with his brother Cal during the oil boom and met the love of his life Gard Simons. They were married July 16, 1960 eventually became parents to Mary, Cal, Del and Terry. Grant was predeceased by his parents, his wife Gard, son Cal, brother Cal and sister Joan.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with family friend Calvin Blauel officiating. Daughter-in-law Martha MacPherson and grandson Douglas MacPherson gave loving tributes of Grant's life. Long-time friend Dorothy Hebert sang There Will Be Peace and Precious Lord, accompanied by pianist Evelyn Shursen. Fraternal services were presented by the Elks. Honorary Pallbearers were Grant's Friends and Family and the BPOE Elks, along with the Royal Purple Ladies. Active Pallbearers were Ian Walker, Justin MacPherson, Douglas MacPherson, Terry MacPherson, Del MacPherson, Grant Walker, Cody and Chrissy Zimmer as Grant was laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery.

Family and friends gathered for a time of fellowship and a luncheon by the members of the Royal Purple.

Memorial donations be made to the Heartland Youth Centre or Stettler Hospice (SHSF - Hospice).
