Henry William Aspedokken passed away on May 26, 2009 at the age of 71 years. He is survived by his sisters, Inga (Roger) Jones and Helen Darnell; his nieces and nephews; Myron Jones, Lynn (Gary) Poole, Tim Jones, Lois Jones, Linda Darnell, Colleen Ethier, Michael Darnell and Ivan (Lasqua) Darnell. He grew up on the farm by Spruce Coulee and attended school there. He joined his father in farming when he was 15 years old. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping and even won an award for the excellent job he did of stretching furs. He always attended functions at the Spruce Coulee Community Centre and especially enjoyed the card parties during the winter. He appreciated nature and loved animals. He looked after his mother so she could stay in her own home up until her passing. Henry was very goodhearted and trusting, looking for the good in others. Funeral services were held at Sharon Lutheran Church, Donalda, Alberta on June 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Laurendeau officiating. Ken and Evelyn Pfeiffer sang a duet as well as led the singing for the congregational hymns. Lynn Poole played the piano. Pallbearers were Ivan Darnell, Michael Darnell, Myron Jones, Lois Jones, Tim Jones and Gary Poole; when they laid Henry to rest in the Spruce Coulee Cemetery.
Family and friends gathered in the lower hall of Sharon Lutheran Church for a time of sharing, fellowship and a luncheon prepared by the Spruce Coulee Ladies Aid.
