Helen Rose Miazga was born April 21, 1930 to loving parents Alex and Polly Kaminski. Helen was raised on the family farm near Brooksby, Saskatchewan. In 1949, Helen married Ignace Miazga, the most respectful and best looking man in the community. They resided in the Melfort area and later in Saskatoon. In 1963, looking west, they took the adventurous step to pack up everyone and move to Alberta where they made Stettler home for over four decades. The move strengthened her support for the Saskatchewan Roughriders which made her ride the "Green Wave" as a lifelong fan. Helen was a busy and active housewife who took pride in her home and family. She enjoyed sewing, decorating, conversation and singing. This led to a successful career as a real estate agent. Helen never shied away from a spirited debate especially about politics. She strongly believed in fairness and abhorred injustice. Helen encouraged her children to be independent and to be able to take on challenges to pursue in their adult lives. The family wishes to thank the caring staff and doctors of the Stettler Hospital and Home Care Services. A Prayer Vigil was held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 with Mr. Frank Zerr officiated.
