May 15, 1935 - November 30, 2019
She was born to Isaie and Marie-Anne Lacaille on May 15, 1935 in Radville, Saskatchewan. She attended school in Soda Lake, and then high school in Radville where she met Richard (Dick) Wells. Dick and Helen were wed on July 13, 1953 in Regina. They had four children together, 3 boys and a daughter who was born on Helen's 25th birthday. They began raising their family in Radville until they moved to Red Deer, Alberta in 1960. In 1962, the family moved to Stettler, Alberta where Dick managed Sims Furniture and Helen managed the homefront. Dick and Helen eventually bought the furniture store and renamed it "Wells Furniture Ltd.". It became the family business with Helen and the boys all working there at some point, until Dick and Helen retired in 1989, and became snowbirds. Helen enjoyed the warm climate of Arizona. Dick and Helen moved back to Red Deer in 2005. Family was always Helen's greatest passion and she was so proud of her entire crew.
Helen is survived by her loving children; Brian (Pam), Dale (Barb), Terry (Lois), Sharon (Dale). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren who meant the world to her; Michelle (Delaine), Jennifer, Angela (Mike), Lisa, Mark (Ann Louise), Ashley, Troy (Nicole), Tyler, Brent (Megan), and Corey (Jess) as well as 13 adored great grandchildren and sister Florence of Brandon, brother-in-law Donald of St. Albert and dear friend Lorea Haynes. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
A Private Family Service will be held, with arrangements entrusted to Eventide Funeral Home of Red Deer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
