Helen 1919-2010

Our dear mother Helen passed away on February 9, 2010. Helen was born on July 4, 1919 on a farm near Erskine, Alberta where her parents lived in a granary converted to living quarters. Her father worked for the CNR so they lived in various places in Alberta. Her last 12 years were spent living in Edmonton. She will be lovingly remembered by her family; daughters Deanna Wilcox (Marv), Phyllis Visscher; sons Doug Cox (Marg), Herb Visscher (Flo), Bill Visscher (Tara), Norm Visscher (Bev) and Ron Visscher (Deb), extended families; 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; sister Mable (Bill) Wigley; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husbands - Bert Cox, Henry Visscher, Bill Newbigging and John Brewster. Helen is also predeceased by her father Gus Herzog; step-father August Lindberg; mother Etta Herzog/Lindberg; sisters Evelyn Gueffroy, Loye Scheerschmidt, Grace Wigley; brothers Ed Herzog, Harvey Herzog, Lawrence Herzog; grandson Kim Wilcox and granddaughter Sherilyn Cox. Funeral services were held at the Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home and Crematorium, Stettler, Alberta at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 13, 2010 with Reverend Debbie Stockdale officiating. Interment took place at the Botha Woodland Cemetery, Botha, Alberta. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Society, 10531 Kingsway Ave. Edmonton, Alberta T5H 4K1.
