Aug. 5, 1943 - Sept. 30, 2017 of Red Deer, AB
Gladys was born to Roy and Mary Wright on August 5, 1943 in Gull Lake, SK and grew up on the farm as the youngest of nine siblings.
As a young women she moved from Saskatchewan to Settler, AB where she met and married the love of her life Gerry Hunt on March 5, 1965. Gladys and Gerry stayed in the Stettler area and she was blessed to be the mother of six children Kelly; Tracy; Shelly (Alex); Diane (Ian); Deana and Jeanette (Roan).
Throughout their lives Gladys' children continued to bless her with 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and she always said the children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy. She often remarked that she'd wished she had had the grandchildren first.
The families' adventures took them from Stettler, AB to Innisfail, AB followed by Wabasca, AB for Gerry's work. They then returned to Settler, AB to care for Grandma Hunt. As her children started their own lives Gladys and Gerry followed their next calling in life by relocating to Red Deer, AB to become part of Loaves and Fishes Ministry to, as Gladys often said "make sure everyone was fed, watered, hugged and prayed for". She, along with Gerry, very much enjoyed being a part of that community and looking after everyone including their adopted family.
Those left to mourn Gladys will remember her as a loving wife, caring mother, hovering grandmother, and aunt as well as a friend and confidant to many, especially the ladies that she enjoyed her fellowship with. She was always quick to smile, make you feel welcome and there was always a giggle.
Although Gladys loved flowers she loved serving the community more. For this reason, in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hope Mission or Potters Hands Kitchen in Red Deer, AB.
