Gerald was born in Castor, Alberta the only son of True and Hazel Jackson on July 13th, 1926. He passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital in Camrose on March 17, 2010 at the age of 83. Gerald grew up on the family farm, attended the nearby Britain School and continued farming with his Dad until his parents retired. In 1946 he married Dilly Creasey of Halkirk and they continued to live on the home farm until retiring to Camrose in 1993.

After many years of going to Arizona for the winter, Gerald and Dilly decided to stay home, and go RVing with the Good Sams during the summer months.

Throughout his life Gerald enjoyed the company of others especially sharing coffee and swapping tales with friends at the local coffee shop. Gerald loved life to the fullest and his family was his pride and joy. Gerald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dilly; daughters Marilyn McPherson, Carolyn Messier (Bert) , Elaine; and son Eldon; two grandchildren, Darrin McPherson (Mary Jo) and Jodi Lambert (Marc); four great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Sydney and Ethan Lambert and Macey McPherson; his younger sister Glenna Creasey; sister-in-law Heather Harvie; a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his older sister Beulah Grant. A Celebration of Life was held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church (6406 44B Ave Camrose) with Rev. Frank Wilson officiating. Interment took place in the Camrose Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to The Alberta Cancer Foundation or Camrose Association for Community Living.
