George William
George passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the age of 75, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. George was born on October 16, 1934 at Condor, Alberta to George and Eileen Perry. His early years were spent mainly in Innisfail, AB where he met his wife, Fern. They moved around Alberta until finally settling in Bashaw in 1966, where they raised four children and continued to operate their trucking company. After Fern's passing, George met Carol McLean and together they enjoyed camping, visiting friends and family and especially playing guitars. George is survived by his loving companion Carol, as well as two daughters Michele (Charles) Hunter of Camrose, AB, Liane (Jim) Gotaas of Cranbrook B.C., and two sons, Doug (Lucia) Perry of Ladysmith, B.C., and Keith Perry of Bashaw, as well as seven grandchildren Kristen, Dana, Dustin, Ryan, Daimon, Kayla, and Tianna, two sisters Debbie (Jim) Sigurdson of Sylvan Lake, and Terry (John) Matheson of Innisfail, as well as numerous relatives and friends. George was predeceased by his wife Fern, two brothers Rick and Don, his sister Phyllis, and his parents. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter (St. Mary's Hospital Pastoral Care) officiating.
