1923 - 2010
Emma Rosey Holtz passed away at the Stettler Hospital on Friday, September 17, 2010 at the age of 86 years and 360 days. Emma was born in Botha, Alberta on September 21, 1923 to Albert and Elizabeth Yucker. Emma was the oldest sister to William and Betty. She went to school at Docendo School. November 18, 1940 she married Eric Holtz. To this union six children were born; Eugene, David (Sharon), Carol Brown, Lenard (Shelia), Albert (Ann) and Trudy Fischer (Ray). Eric and Emma farmed south east of Erskine for more than 60 years. Emma was predeceased by her parents in 1965 and 1975, then Eric in 1986, her eldest son Eugene in 1999 and her son Len in 2008. Emma loved the farm and her garden and flowers. She always looked forward to family visiting, especially the grandchildren. Emma moved to the Heart Haven Lodge three years ago. She enjoyed volunteering at the Superfluity Shop. She always had a puzzle on the go to set up and she enjoyed visits from family and friends. Emma always looked forward to Saturday coffee when her good friend Ann LaRose came for a visit. She leaves to morn her loving children, fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service for Emma will be held at the Brennen Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Ross Helgeton officiating. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance or to Heart Haven Lodge in care of Brennen Funeral Home and Cremation Services P.O. Box 193 Stettler, Alberta TOC 2LO.
