ZIMMER, Edward A.
On November 17, 2009 Mr. Ed Zimmer of Ponoka, formerly of Bashaw, passed away at the age of 77 years. Ed is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; five children: Lyle & Maxine, Grant & Val, Curtis, Karen & Brian, and Robert; six grandchildren: Ryan, Darren, Preston, Crystal, Bryn and Nathan; three great-grandchildren: Devon, Payton and Blake; his brother Walter Zimmer (Lorna); sisters Lydia Wing, Adeline Shaw (Ron) and Ethel Cornelssen (Lee); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father August Zimmer in 1975 and his mother Laura Zimmer in 1979; brothers John in 1982, Ernest in 1987, Louis in 1993, Ronald in 1991 and Ken in 2009; and his sister Flora Buelow in 1984. A Funeral Service was held at Zion Lutheran Church in Bashaw at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21st with Pastor Larry Soveran officiating. The Interment Service followed at the Bashaw Cemetery. Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Bashaw Cemetery, Canadian Cancer Society or the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
