INNOCENT – Edith Jeane passed away peacefully on Sept. 23, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Edith was born in Consort, AB on July 20, 1927 to Bessie and William Taylor. She moved north of Stettler with her family. Edith and Ralph were married April 2, 1948, and lived on a farm east of Stettler, AB. To this union three daughters were born, Diana, Laura and Cindy and one son Bill. Edith lived all her married life on the farm east of Stettler until her passing. She wore many hats of farming activities: raising chickens, pigs, gardening, also helping with the horse chores, getting the kids ready for all the horse shows and race meets and still finding time to sew personalized gifts for the family. She also belonged to the Pilot Knob Ladies Club. Her husband, kids, and grandkids always came first, attending to their many needs, before herself. Her door was always open to anyone who came. No one left without having a cup of tea or lunch. Grandma’s house was the central meeting place for all family members. Predeceased by her parents, William and Bessie Taylor; brother Elmer Taylor; sister Anne Doell; and husband, Ralph Innocent. Edith is survived by her son Bill (Sherri); daughters, Cindy (Vic) Moisan, Laura (Bernie) McGowan, and Diana (Rod) Glass; eight grandchildren, Cody Innocent, Kyle Moisan, Kimberly Moisan, Cherie (Tim) Ziegler, Susann (Blaine) Stone, Randy McGowan, Beverly Glass (Steve Gilroy), and Brian Glass (Tiffany Miller); great-grandson Wyatt Ziegler; niece Karen (Eric) Braid and family; nephew Lorne (Leslie) Doell and family; other family members and many friends. Funeral service was held in The Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home, Stettler, Alberta with Rev. Ross Helgeton of the Erskine Evangelical Free Church, officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Stettler Health Services Foundation, S.T.A.R.S. or a charity of the donor’s choice, c/o Stettler Funeral Home, Box 1780, Stettler, AB T0C 2L0.
