Douglas Bramall passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Doug was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on October 12, 1931. He spent many summers at the family farm in Ogama, Saskatchewan. His family moved to Stettler, Alberta and then Doug moved to Calgary where he met his wife, Dolores. Doug and Dolores were married in 1960 and settled in Calgary in the community of Acadia where they raised their two boys. Doug worked for GSL as a mechanic for many years. After retiring, he and Dolores travelled. Doug had a passion for travelling. He loved going to Hawaii, Mexico, and Ireland. Along with traveling, Doug loved good food. He always knew where the best place to eat was, no matter where he was. Most importantly, Doug adored his family, especially his grandchildren. He spent many hours cheering on his kids, and grandkids at whatever activity was going on. Doug was also a big sports fan. He could often be found cheering on, or talking about, his Calgary Flames or Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Doug is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores; his son Michael, wife LaVerne and grandchildren Kristopher his partner Brittany, and Sara; his son Timothy; and his sister Elaine. He was predeceased by his father, mother, aunt Elsie, and brother Ken. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful nursing team who took such good care of Doug at Trico Living Well Seniors Residence, as well as the palliative care team of nurses and doctors on Unit 73 at Rockyview Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial - Elboya Chapel, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed at www.MHFH.com.
