Douglas Charles Leibel was born to Jerome and Mildred Leibel in Camrose, Alberta. There, he grew up with his two brothers and one sister. He went to St. Patrick Catholic School, Camrose Composite High School, and finally NAIT in Edmonton where he graduated in electrical engineering technology.

Doug married the love of his life, Teresa on the 5th of April 1986, and they began their journey together in wedded bliss. Amy Jean and Jan Marie joyfully gained a father at that celebration. They made their home Stettler, Alberta where he built both his family and community life. A short while later the family of four welcomed Doug's first son, Nicholas Charles. Their family grew farther with the addition of another son Luke Douglas and a "baby girl" Naomi Teresa.

Doug proudly held the title of "CABLE GUY" as he worked 31 years in the ever changing business as a communication technician. He also enjoyed tinkering and spending quality time with the family, no matter the activity (chores, camping, and everything in-between). His nightly ritual of sharing a home cooked meal with his family after a long day of work was his most precious time.

A friend to everyone he met, Doug will dearly be missed by all the lives he touched. The qualities we will miss the most will be: his goofy sense of humour, his natural talent in fixing everything and anything, his looooong conversations, his playful nature with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his unending patience in all that he did. He will be forever in our hearts and a voice inside our heads!

Doug passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at his home in Stettler, Alberta at the age of 53 years. Doug is lovingly remembered and survived by WIFE Teresa Leibel of Stettler; CHILDREN: Amy (David) Churchill of Sherwood Park, Jan Leibel of Redcliff, Nicholas (Hannah) Leibel of Calgary, Luke (Sara) Leibel of Leduc and Naomi (Chad) Bohle of Saskatoon; GRANDCHILDREN: Sarah Noonan of Calgary, Mackenzy and Kole Churchill of Sherwood Park, Sterling and Briar Leibel of Calgary; PARENTS Mildred and Jerome Leibel of Camrose; SIBLINGS: Kevin (Lois) Leibel of Grande Prairie, Thomas (Tracey) Leibel of Camrose and Joan (Gordon) Naslund of Camrose; MOTHER-IN-LAW Lina Paradis of Unity; SIBLINGS-IN-LAW: Kathleen (Blaine) Watson of Saskatoon, Gregory (Eileen) Paradis of Cut Knife, Loretta Dougan (Pat Hutchinson) of North Battleford, Reginald (Karen) Paradis of Barrhead, Rita (Gary) Mayes of Martensville and Yvette (Allan) Leibel of Saskatoon; as well as numerous loved ones.
