DOWNEY - Doreen 1926 – 2008. On Monday, Sept.1 2008, at the age of 82 years, Doreen Downey of Red Deer, AB passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. She was raised in Stettler, AB and went on to receive a Business Diploma in Grande Prairie, AB, before marrying and raising a family in Castor, AB. She moved to Red Deer in 1972 where she resided until her passing. She is survived by her five children, William (Darina) Downey of Calgary, AB, Brian (Trudy) Downey of Red Deer, Dwight (Kathy) Downey of Castor, Darrin Downey of Prince George, B.C., and Reena Downey of Red Deer. Also leaving behind her five grandchildren, Allison (Marc) of Edmonton, AB, Dustin (Jovina) of Taber, AB, Michael (Sylvia) of Grimshaw, AB, Logan (Kyla) of Castor, Christopher of Calgary, four great-grandchildren Chiaki, Deklan, Ethan and Matteo. She is predeceased by her brother Ernie and sister Marilyn.
