April 6, 1953 - May 21, 2022
Dorathy Ann Marshall of Nevis, Alberta passed away at the age of 69 years at the Stettler Hospital on Saturday, May 21, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Dorathy was born to John and Ella Kisser on April 6, 1953 in Stettler, Alberta.
Dorathy met her husband Earl through friends. She was won over by his outgoing personality and good looks. They were married on November 27, 1971 and lived for 8 years in various work camps throughout Alberta before they settled on an acreage south of Nevis to raise the family. They started their own business at this time. Dorathy kept herself busy, working as a bookkeeper and secretary for the company while raising her two children. When she was not working for the business, she was enjoying life with family and friends. Dorathy was willing to try just about anything, from a simple game of cards to more exotic sports like ziplining, body surfing and parasailing. She also had her own personal pleasures that she would partake in, like making floral arrangements, bowling, shopping, and travelling. However, there was one activity that trumped all others, golfing. Dorathy absolutely loved this game whether practicing at her homemade driving range or playing on Wednesday night with the ladies. Every year she looked forward to going down south during the winter to their second home in Bullhead City, where she went golfing whenever she could.
Family meant more to her than anything else in the world.
Dorathy is survived by her loving husband Earl of 50 years; children Tracy (Stacey) Peters and their child Emma and James (Crystal) Marshall and their children Lucas and Cole; parents John and Ella Kisser; sister Bev (Rick) her children Ross (Kim) and Leann (Kent); brother Gord and his children Alicia and Johnny (Angie). As well as numerous aunts, cousins and dear friends.
Predeceased by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, family and friends.
Dorathy was a selfless, kind-hearted, loving, generous, caring person and a supportive wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister and friend. She had a smile that was contagious and will never be forgotten.
A Come and Go Social gathering will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Nevis Community Hall.
