TURNER - Donnie Lynn passed away at Calgary, AB on Dec. 30, 2008 at the age of 57 years. Don was born in Castor, AB on May 30, 1951 to Gilbert and Esther Turner and attended Grades 1 through 12 in Castor. On Jan. 17, 1970 Don married Wanda Anderson and they had two sons Scott Barry and Craig Alan. He took motor mechanics, a four year course at SAIT and graduated with his certificate in January 1974 and has been a mechanic since September 1969 until his passing. He loved his 1965 T-Bird and his new 2008 Dodge one ton that pulled their fifth wheel. Don enjoyed all sports and camping with family and friends. Our trips to the mountains were his favourite.Don is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Wanda; sons Scott (Renee), Craig (Trina); grandchildren: Mathew, Taylor, Daulton and Jayden and a new baby coming in February; mother-in-law Jean Anderson; his brother Keith (Karen) Turner; sisters Donna (Ron) Towers and Helen Wollman; brothers and sisters-in-law: Wes (Vicki) Anderson, Bradley (Elaine) Anderson, Julie (Larry) Paschke and Lorna (Ron) Petersen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Gilbert and Esther Turner and father-in-law Ed Anderson.Funeral service was held at Stettler Funeral Home with Rev. Mervyn Penfound officiating. Brother-in-law Larry Paschke gave the tribute. During the service some of Don’s favourite music was played, Rest of Mine by Trace Adkins, Look at Us and Go Rest High On That Mountain by Vince Gill. Private family interment took place at Omega Cemetery with Ron Petersen, Larry Paschke, Wes Anderson, Brad Anderson, Darrell Turner and Brian Turner acting as pallbearers.
