LEE

Mr. Donald Frederick

1922 - 2010

Mr. Don Lee passed away at home on Monday, July 19, 2010 at the age of 87 years. The youngest of 4 children, Don was born to Frank and Nell Lee on the family farm near Leahurst on September 9, 1922. Don married Marilyn Jones on June 24, 1945. Don's interests varied from his passion for the farm, to curling, to world travel. He and Marilyn traveled to more than 40 countries, on six continents over many winters. An avid interest in many sports always provided for a lively discussion, often over a good game of cards, but always with a friendly laugh and twinkle in his eye. Ever the gentleman, a game of croquet however brought out a charmingly ruthless side of Don. Winter was always filled by curling, but his anticipation of spring and driving tractor was never far away. Even this spring the tractor, sitting in the yard enticed him to drive it into the field more than the NHL playoffs could hold his attention on TV. Don was predeceased by his wife Marilyn, brother Lloyd, sisters, Gerturde and Gladys. Don is survived by his daughter Sherry Brann and son Roger and his wife Malora Lee. Grandchildren; Kevin Brann, Monica (Shane) Gibson, Andrea Lee and Brian Lee and great-grandchildren Evan, Owen and Isabelle Gibson. Funeral services for the late Don Lee were held at the First Baptist Church in Stettler on Monday, July 26, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Lloyd Alstad officiating. Tributes were given by Peggy and Wilbur Stewart and Malora Lee. The organist was Larry Johnson. Following the service family and friends gathered at the Lake View Cemetery where Don was laid to rest with his beloved wife Marilyn. A reception and fellowship followed at the First Baptist Church. As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Don, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon's Bible Plan, the Stettler Health Services Foundation - Long Term Care or to a charity of your choice in care of Brennen Funeral Home and Cremation Services P.O.
