Donald (Donnie) Herbert Walker was freed from pain surrounded by his family at the Stettler Hospital February 10, 2018 at the age of 72.

Donnie was born at Hanna, Alberta to Harry and Bessie Walker. He was the ninth child of thirteen.

Donnie spent many years doing what he loved; training horses, travelling down the chuckwagon trails, pipelining, camping, fishing, farming, and coaching hockey.

In April of 1973 he married the love of his life Joy Wilkie. Donnie was blessed with three daughters: Lisa, Lana and Tasha. Because of them he became a proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Don is survived by his loving family: Joy, his wife of 44 years; daughters: Lisa (Rick) Kent, Lana (Ben) Chitwood, Tasha (Warren) Loov; grandchildren: Wyatt (Makayla), Morgan and McGuire Kent; Sarah, Emily, Walker, Cooper and Briar Chitwood; Hayvn, Georgie and Kipp Loov and great- granddaughter Paisley Kent; brothers: Stan Walker, Ken Walker, Dennis (Sally) Walker and Allen Walker; sisters: Jeanne (Mac) Sinclair, Joyce (Dick) Moore, Winnie Paulson, Doris Schilling, Deanna (Doug) Johnson and Lynda (Clifford) Wilkie; brothers-in-law: Rod Rarick, Lawrence (Mary) Wilkie, Ken (Donna) Wilkie, Don (Wanda) Wilkie and Wayne (Dale) Wilkie; sisters-in-laws: Evelyn Walker and Phyllis Wilkie; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives and many dear friends.

Don was predeceased by his parents Harry and Bessie Walker; brother Bob Walker; sister Judy Rarick; parents-in-law Bill and Dorothy Wilkie; brothers-in-law Paul Paulson and Russell Wilkie; sisters-in-law: Betty Walker, Anne Walker and Colleen Walker.

A celebration of Donnie's life was held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 with family friend Billy Melville leading the service. Loving tributes were presented by Donnie's family.

Following the service family and friends joined together for a time of fellowship and a luncheon.
