Don Moxham Sr.

May 16, 1928 - April 18, 2013

With children Carrie, Dixie, and Donnie; sister Dorothy and nephew Garry at his side Don passed away while his airplane stories were being told. Don loved to be surrounded by people, whether it was getting together to sing and play the guitar, tell stories and jokes, talk on the ham radio air waves or at the Stettler Flying Club where he was a long time member and avid pilot. Don's passion for cars lead him to open Alberta's second Datsun dealership, a business known today as Don's Car Sales now owned by son Donnie and son-in-law Alvin. Raised north of Red Willow, he then resided in Stettler and retired to Rochon Sands.

Dad has shown us perseverance and courage as the once lively, humorous yet compassionate entertainer, retired businessman, and father was silenced with a massive stroke 14 years ago.

Predeceased by wife Barbara 10 years ago, sister Dorothy Fix's husband Charlie and sister-in-law Jean Macleod, Dad is also now free and with them and so many friends.

A special thanks goes out to a very dedicated friend, John Wittwer, who visited Dad twice a week for these past 14 years. The family also wants to thank all the support from so many of the health care staff who have been such a help with all the challenges over the years. Your compassion and support is overwhelming. For those who wish, the family wishes to acknowledge a truly amazing facility who went above and beyond in helping us with Dad's challenges, memorial donations may be made in Don's name to County of Stettler Housing Authority - Willow Creek (or a charity of choice). Most gracious thanks for everyone's support!

On April 22, 2013 Reverend Jerry deVries and Stettler Funeral Home helped the family and friends celebrate Don's life. Love you Dad and Grampa!

Survived by his loving family: Carrie (Alvin) Kuefer - Erin (Kurt) Chick, Bethany; Dixie (Brian) Hawkins - Chris, Janine; Donnie (Kathy) Moxham - Scott; sister Dorothy Fix; brother in law Jack Macleod (Lenora); other family and many dear friends.
