HOSKINS - Dillon James. It is with heavy hearts we mourn the passing of Dillon. Born Nov. 12, 1941 in Castor, AB. He passed away in the arms of his son with his wife at his side on Aug. 18, 2008 in Trail, B.C. after a lengthy illness with lung cancer. Dillon graduated high school in Stettler and pursued his career in the oilfield. He spent many of his earlier years overseas drilling on and offshore rigs. He later became a consultant on the rigs until his retirement in 2004. He met Loraine Martini in Calgary, AB and they were married in 1981 and settled in Castlegar, B.C. where he resided until his passing. Dillon loved fishing and camping. He hunted and quadded with his brothers in Alberta and his son in B.C. He also loved to take someone on in a good game of cards. Dillon and Loraine spent lots of time in Victoria, B.C. with his daughter Kelly, and his granddaughter Lacey. They brought great joy to his life. He loved all his family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as he could. We have lost such a gentle soul. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Loraine of Castlegar; son Heath of Bonnyville, AB; daughter Kelly (Cam) Dean and beloved granddaughter Lacey, all of Victoria; four brothers and one sister; Gary Hoskins of Calgary; Neil Hoskins of Caroline, AB; Elaine (Russell) Shauers of Prince Rupert, B.C.; Clark (Marnie) Hoskins of Red Deer, AB; Harvey (Theresa) Hoskins of Erskine, AB; two brothers-in-law, Rudy (Dorothy) Martini; Richard (Joan) Martini all of Castlegar as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Jim and Leona Hoskins and one brother Wayne as well as his father and mother-in-law, Gabriel and Mary Martini. His funeral was held at the United Church in Castlegar, B.C. on Monday, August 25 at 11 a.m.
