Deanna Kathleen (Dee-Dee)
February 17, 1965 - July 9, 2010
On July 9, 2010 the angels came quietly to take Deanna to her heavenly home to be reunited with her mother, Joanne Benusic and her father, Michael Benusic. Dee-Dee faced many challenges and in spite of these, greeted the world with a beautiful smile. Deanna welcomed all family, friends and visitors with a joyful, open heart, smiling eyes and spontaneous good humour. Dee-Dee's laughter always brightened the room. No matter how much you gave Deanna, you departed knowing she gave you the most. She was a special blessing to all who knew her. Her gifts to you were many in her own unique and special way. Dee-Dee was our treasure and precious "Sunshine Girl". Deanna lived in Big Valley, Alberta until she was 3 years old. Then Deanna and her family moved to Edmonton. This allowed her to participate in special programs so she could achieve her full potential in life. Dee-Dee attended Glenrose Hospital School and Elves Memorial School. Deanna thoroughly enjoyed her school years and all the wonderful friends and loving teachers she encountered along her journey. For many years Deanna was part of the Catholic Social Service Family. She resided at Lago Lindo House with her very special family and caring staff. Dee-Dee was able to enjoy outings and family events with the help of devoted staff. We thank God for the blessing of Deanna in our lives and for anyone who blessed her life. Deanna will be lovingly remembered by her siblings; Ken, Darlene, Patricia, Steve, Clifford, John, Debbie and their families. Also many cherished friends and family members. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Social Services Sign of Hope or Easter Seals. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Parish 9420-163 Street, Edmonton.
