Mr. David (Dave) LeRoy McNally, a resident of Erskine and Stettler, Alberta areas, passed away July 23, 2011 at the age of 71 years at his home surrounded by his family. Dave was born at Erskine, Alberta, June 29, 1940 to Edward and Nellie. Dave was united in marriage to Sherrie Waugh of Nevis on September 6, 1958. Dave is survived by his loving wife, Sherrie and daughters Marlene (Fred) Armstrong of Red Deer, Cindy (Robbie) Garner of Simpson, SK, Lorraine (Kevin) McAllister of Stettler, Teresa (Jerry) Coules of Stettler his grandchildren, Trevor (Zheng) Armstrong, Amanda (Craig) Paskuski, Megan Armstrong (Russell Yoshihara), Christina, Justin and Jessica Garner, David, Danny and Clinton McAllister, Robyn and Alisha Coules, and three great grandchildren, Lilja Armstrong, Owen and Reid Paskuski, as well as brother Norman (Joyce) of Calgary, sister Ilene (Cliff) Gorr of Osoyoos, BC, brothers-in-law, Reg Young of Calgary, Wayne (Doreen) Waugh of Bashaw, sisters-in-law, Marion McNally of Red Deer, Patricia Norman of Stettler, Louise Chick of Stettler, Wendy (Vic) Walls of Red Deer, Fern Elliott of Stettler, and Janice Waugh of Nevis and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his parents Edward and Nellie and his brothers James and Morris, sister Marie Young, father and mother-in-law, Laurence and Iris Waugh, brother-in-law Mark Waugh and nephews Douglas McNally and Delmar Norman. After attending Mount Royal College in Calgary, Dave and Sherrie moved back to the family farm at Erskine where they raised their family and grew their mixed farming operation, known as LV Ranches Ltd. In 1981 the farm was relocated to east of Stettler. They returned to their roots at Erskine in June of 2006, where they took great pride in developing their acreage. Dave was instrumental in introducing and growing the Limousin Breed in Canada, being the first president of the Alberta Limousin Association and serving on the board of directors for many years. He sat on numerous committees for both the Canadian Limousin Association and Alberta Limousin Association, being honored on several occasions for his service and dedication to the breed. In the mid 60's, Dave received his Land Agent license and was employed by McNally Land Services Ltd. until 2010. In 1969 Dave began his very successful Cattle Consulting career, managing cattle sales throughout Canada. Having a competitive nature, Dave was a sports enthusiast. He was involved in many sports as a participant, coach, fan, and mentor. He was also instrumental in the success of many community projects and organizations. Dave valued the many lasting friendships that he cultivated along the way. A Celebration of Life for David LeRoy McNally will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Christ-King Catholic Church, 4916-54th Street, Stettler, Alberta. As an expression of sympathy and in loving memory of Dave, memorial contributions may be made to Alberta Cancer Foundation, Prostate Cancer Research in care of Brennen Funeral Home and Cremation Services P.O.
