Dave passed away at the Stettler Hospital on June 10, 2010 at the age of 87 years. He was born on July 24 1922 on a farm north of Erskine, the eldest son of Dave and Annie Brown. Predeceased by his parents, Dave and Annie Brown; sister Helen Combest; brothers Allen, Leonard and Jim Brown. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife of 62 years, Margaret; sons Ross (Marie) and David (Vicki); three grandchildren Michael Brown, Carol Brown (Jayson Gordy) and Megan Brown(Jason Adams); great-grandson Austin Adams; sisters Isabelle Norris, Edith Olhausen, Alice (Dale) Norris, Gladys Anderson and Audrey (Wally) Ward; sisters-in-law Lois Baptie, Bernice Brown, Norma Brown and Jean Brown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A private family interment was held at Erskine Cemetery, on June 16, 2010, with Rev. Mervyn Penfound officiating. Carol Brown read a poem that she had written to her Grandfather when she was younger. Margaret and her family welcomed all of their extended family and friends at the IOOF Hall in Erskine for a time of fellowship and a luncheon prepared and served by the Erskine UCW.
