IRWIN, Danny

It is with great sadness that the family of Danny Irwin, son, brother and friend was tragically taken from us in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at the tender age of 17. Danny leaves to mourn his parents, Debby and John Irwin, sister, Melissa Irwin and her boyfriend, Jeff Dyck, and his dog Maddie. Danny also leaves to mourn his grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many dear friends. Danny will be remembered for his big smile, his awesome sense of humour, his many friends which he shared countless days with, working on their trucks, sledding, quading, or just sitting around having a good time. He enjoyed living life to the fullest and spending time with his friends. Danny was a boy who grew to be a very adventurous, handsome young man with a passion for life. He was apprenticing to be a welder at DNR Welding and enjoyed his job immensely. We will miss him tremendously and he will be forever in our hearts. We love you Danny! A celebration of Danny's life was held in the Heartland Chapel of Stettler Funeral Home on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ross Helgeton officiating. Scott Pfeiffer played for the congregational hymn "Amazing Grace." A slideshow and Danny's favorite music were played. Josh Meyer played guitar and sang "See You Soon," a song that he wrote for Danny. A family tribute was given by Melissa Irwin and Jeff Dyck; as well Kevin Hallett gave a moving tribute to his friend. Danny was laid to rest at the Lake View Cemetery, Stettler, Alberta. Active pallbearers were Jeff Dyck, Kevin Hallett, Ty Rajewski, Tyler Seyer, Bryce Van Landuyt, Mark Salmon, Blaine Gendre, Ryan MacNaughton, and Wyatt Watson. Donations in Danny's memory may be made to STARS or Heartland Stettler Victim Services, c/o Stettler Funeral Home, Box 1780, Stettler. Sympathies may be forwarded to the family by signing the guestbook at www.stettlerfuneralhome.com.
