JACQUES

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Camille Jacques who was born in Kimberley, British Columbia on April 9, 1950 and passed away May 6, 2012 in Stettler, Alberta. Dan was predeceased by his father Camille Jacques in 1963 and mother Wuzlena Jacques in 1995. He is survived by wife Shirley Jacques of Halkirk, Alberta who was the love of his life and two daughters, Cammy (Louis) Gendre of Erskine, Alberta and Kerri (James) Pothier of Gadsby, Alberta as well as seven grandchildren: Justin McCulloch, Matthew McCulloch, Ashton Katona, Timothy Herrell, Sherisse Pothier, Elizabeth Herrell and Jordan Herrell. Dan was the oldest of five children and is survived by his siblings: Len Jacques, Annette Yurkowski, Marie Fischl and Marcel Jacques. Dan was a draftsman/surveyor for the Cominco Mine in Kimberley, BC for 30 years. While living in Kimberley he served on many charity organizations including the Lions Club, Volunteer Fire Department and the Food Bank. Dan enjoyed a variety of activities in life, such as hunting, fishing, gardening, golfing and camping. A graveside service was held at the Gadsby Omega Cemetery on Thursday, May 10, 2012 with Reverend Ross Helgeton officiating. Dan was active throughout his life in various churches. His life was lived in service to others and he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He lived as Christ had called him to live and now Dan lives with Christ in Heaven.
