1927 - 2017
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mr. Christian Hintz of Stettler, Alberta, at the Stettler Hospital on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the age of 89 years. Christ was born on July 21, 1927 at Hanna, Alberta and moved as a child to the new family farm outside of Endiang where he and his brothers raised grain and cows until they sold the farm in 2005. He then moved with his brother, Reinhold, to Stettler to begin retirement life. Christ will be deeply missed by his family who loved and respected his gentleness, patience, and heartwarming smile. Only two siblings are left to mourn him, his sister, Regina (Hintz) Marshall of Heart Haven in Stettler, Alberta and his brother, Ted of Abbotsford, British Columbia. Christ was predeceased by his father, Christian (1971), his mother, Christina (1974), and brothers, Samuel (1988), Adolph Leippi (2003) and Reinhold (2006). He was also predeceased by sister in laws Annie Leppi (2015), Dorothy Hintz (2015), along with brother in law Keith Marshall (2016). Alive to keep him within their hearts are his nephew Martin and niece Elaine, in-law nephew Tony, in-law niece Juanita, and grandnieces Genevieve, Sarah Jane, and Natashia, along with great-great in-law nephew Christopher and great-great in-law niece Hillary.
A Funeral Service was held at the Lutheran Church, Stettler, Alberta on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Interment was held at Lakeview Cemetery, Stettler, Alberta.
