WILSON - Catherine (Cae) passed away July 21, 2008 at the age of 95. She was born May 8, 1913 in Dobbinton, ON, the youngest of seven children of John and Adeline Crawford. Her family moved to Fenn. AB to farm, already having relatives there. Cae took her nurse’s training at Edmonton General Hospital, graduating in 1937. She started nursing in the Stettler Hospital in December of 1937. While in Stettler, she met Jimmy Wilson and they were married Oct. 8, 1939. They had two daughters Karen and Velma. Cae was very active in the Stettler United Church serving as: Chairman of the Board, UCW, taught Sunday School, Explorers and for many years had a church committee which served Monday noon meals to Rotarians. She enjoyed reading, gardening, crosswords, bowling and she loved playing bridge, which she continued playing until she was 89 years old. Cae is survived by her daughters Karen Wilson of Vancouver, B.C., Velma (Gordon) Moorlag of Stettler, grandchildren Wendy (Geoff) Maki of Devon, AB, Chris Moorlag of Vancouver; great-granddaughters Katherine and Inza Maki; sister-in-law Florence Crawford of Fenn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Jimmy, sister-in-law Pearl Wilson, her parents John and Adeline Crawford, brothers Erwin, Austin, John and sisters Lella, Elsie and Edna. A memorial service was held on Aug. 30, 2008 at the Stettler United Church officiated by Rev. David Denholm. Cae was laid to rest in her family’s plot at Lake View Cemetery at Fenn. Urn bearer was Velma Moorlag. Friends and family gathered in the CE Wing for a time of remembering and fellowship with a luncheon supplied by all the Units of the Stettler UCW.
