It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bob Charles on September 23, 2009 at the age of 66 years. Bob was born in Castor, November 19, 1942 to Rose and Stuart Charles. (He was the 12th of 13 children) Bob moved with his family to Stettler in 1955. After finishing school Bob worked for several years operating heavy equipment. Bob met Nora in 1983, and they were married shortly after; to this union brought three children, Nikki, Bobby, and Jenny. In 1992 Bob started Bob's Surplus Oilfield Equipment; where he rekindled many old friendships and started many new ones. In 2007 things slowed down for him and he got the chance to stay home and became the Greatest Papa anyone could ever have. He was a devoted husband, dad and papa, and will be deeply missed. Bob is survived by his wife, Nora; son, Bobby (Pam Forrester); daughters, Nikki Landry (Clayton) and Jenny Irving (Mike); grandchildren London, Brooklyn, Abi and Parker; brothers Hugh (Nora), Ken (Sheena), Allan (Pat); sisters, Eileen Ward, Jean Charles; Grandpa Dee; brothers-in-law Paul Baerg and George Rowley and his best friend, Diesel. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Stuart Charles; brothers, Herbert, Paul, Donald, James and Russell; sisters, Margaret and Evelyn; mother and father-in- law Laurence and Mable Rogers; sisters-in-law, Joyce Rowley and Phyllis Baerg. Funeral services were held at the Stettler Funeral Home on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 4:00 p.m., with Pastor Ross Helgeton officiating. Tributes were given by Darla Lambert and Allan Charles. Musicians Elaine Hennel played the piano for the hymns and Chris Dobbie and John Laird played guitar and sang "Waiting On An Angel" Cassie Hunt and Tanya Hudson prepared a DVD and was played during the service. Pallbearers were Audie Ward, Barry Black, Doug Liscumb, Duane Jempson, Jimmy Chapman, Darrell Swanson and Darryl Brass.

Family and friends gathered for a time of sharing and fellowship in the Heartland Fellowship Hall. Memorial donations may be made to Paragon Place or charity of the donor's choice.
