HANNA

Bertha Myrtle

Jan. 24, 1931 - Apr. 15, 2010

Bertha's family is deeply saddened by her passing. She was pre-deceased by her son Mark, siblings, and her late husband Orville Hanna. She is survived by her husband Fred Gueffroy, sister Pearl and numerous nieces and nephews in Manitoba and from the Hanna side in Alberta, BC, and Quebec.

Bertha, or Birdie as she was known to all those who loved her, was born in Amaranth, Man., then moved to Gladstone where she spent her formative years, then to Neepawah. Later she relocated to Abbottsford BC and Edmonton where she worked as a retail manager. In Big Valley, AB she bought a hair salon, met Orville a farmer from Fenn, and they were subsequently married. Orville passed in 2002 and in 2007 she met Fred Gueffroy, Fred and Birdie loved to dance, and in 2009 they were married. Bertha was a committed Volunteer at the Stettler Superfluity, loved to knit afghans for family and friends. Birdie had a great sense of humor which we will all dearly miss. There will be a private burial in Fenn Lakeside cemetery April 21, 2010. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Heartland Victims Services one of Birdie's favorite charities.
