GENDRE, Bernard Louis
Mr. Bernard Louis Gendre passed away May 14, 2017 in the Stettler Health Care Centre at the age of 92 years. Bernard was born November 12, 1924 at Erskine, Alberta to Charles and Rosa Gendre. Bernard is survived by his loving family: wife Lorraine; children: Eileen (Ted) Perry, Marie (Bill) Mailman, Brian, Denis (Donna), Cheryl (Ben) Dolan, Diane (Trent) Moore, David (Martina); step children: Judy Gendre, Rick Wooden, Bruce Wooden and Harvey (Lori) Wooden; 30 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brothers Leon Gendre and Brother Louis Gendre; sister Rita Reinbold; other family and friends.
Predeceased by his first wife Dona Gendre, son Larry Gendre, daughter Marjorie Gendre, step son Danny Wooden, step daughters Debbie Gendre and Kay Dyck.
Prayer vigil was held on May 24, 2017 and funeral mass was held at Christ King Catholic Church on May 25, 2017 with Father Don Ihekwoaba as Celebrant. Allen Jacobson gave words of remembrance. Larry Meyer, Joe Gendre, Bernie Jackson, Loretta Wolak were the readers, gift bearers and prayers of the faithful. Veronica Weber, Phil Jarmin and Rosa Weber presented their gifts of music. Bernard was laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery with his six sons as Pallbearers. His beloved grandchildren were Honorary Pallbearers.
