BYRT

Barry Nelson Byrt passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 while in the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 69 years. Barry was born on December 19, 1946 in Didsbury to parents Evelyn and George Byrt. He always had a love for the outdoors even as a child. Barry grew up loving to fish and camp and always warmed the hearts of others through his wild sense of humour and his love of teasing. He spent all his life as a trucker and worked very hard operating his own trucking company. Family was number one with Barry! His beloved wife of almost 41 years, Winnie, was proof of that. He was a caring, giving person who could never spend enough time with his growing family, especially the camping trips with his granddaughters. One of Barry's favourite vacations was his trip to Vegas. He will also be missed by his special cat Harley…….a one man cat! Barry is survived by his loving family: wife Winnie Byrt of Stettler; daughter Melanie Jackman (Chad Clarke); granddaughters Marleigh and McKenzie Jackman; son David Byrt; niece Kelly Byrt; great nephew Donovan Byrt; sister-in-law Margaret Byrt; numerous other family and a host of many friends. Barry was predeceased by his parents George and Evelyn; and brothers Roger and Gordon (Janice). At Barry's request no funeral service was held. Memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society c/o Stettler Funeral Home, Box 1780, Stettler, AB T0C 2L0. Sympathies may be forwarded to the family by signing the guestbook at www.stettlerfuneralhome.com.
